How to use Study Time Calculator

Use the time before your exam to estimate a realistic study budget. The calculation averages your study days across the remaining weeks, then divides the available hours between topics. It is a planning aid rather than a calendar.

Partial weeks are prorated. Difficult topics may need more than the average, and revision should have its own allocation. Enter hours you can consistently study rather than the maximum hours you could theoretically fit into a day.

The formula

Available hours = days / 7 × study days per week × hours per study day Hours per topic = available hours / number of topics

A worked example

Days until exam: 28 · Study days per week: 5 · Hours per study day: 2 · Topics to cover: 10

Available study time: 40 hours

An average planning estimate; partial weeks are prorated. It is not a timetable for specific dates.
