How to use Unit Price Comparison
A larger pack is not always cheaper per unit. Divide each price by the pack’s quantity and compare the results. Use one common unit: enter both weights in grams, both volumes in millilitres, or both counts in pieces.
The tool identifies the lower unit price, not the better product. Quality, waste, storage, delivery charges and how much you need can matter more than a small price difference.
The formula
A worked example
Option A price (₹): 90 · Option A quantity: 500 · Option B price (₹): 160 · Option B quantity: 1000
Lower unit price: Option B
Use the same quantity unit for both options, for example kilograms with kilograms.
Questions about this calculation
Can I compare grams with kilograms directly?
Convert them to the same unit first. For example, enter 500 grams and 1000 grams.
Does the cheapest unit price mean the best purchase?
Not necessarily. Consider quality, the amount you will use and additional charges.
