How to use Fuel Cost Calculator
Enter the total route distance, your vehicle’s expected kilometres per litre and the fuel price you want to use. The tool divides distance by mileage to estimate fuel use, then multiplies by the price per litre.
The fuel price is an input rather than a live city-specific price. Include the return journey in distance when appropriate. Traffic, hills, air conditioning, load and driving style can change actual fuel consumption.
The formula
A worked example
Total trip distance (km): 250 · Vehicle mileage (km/l): 18 · Fuel price per litre (₹): 105
Estimated fuel cost: ₹1,458.33
Enter the total distance including your return journey if needed. Actual mileage changes with traffic, load and driving conditions.
