How to use Days Between Dates

Elapsed time excludes the starting day. An inclusive range counts both the start and end dates, which is often useful for counting days in a booking or event. A range starting and ending on the same date is zero elapsed days or one inclusive day.

The calculation uses dates at UTC midnight, avoiding daylight-saving changes in the length of a local day. It counts all calendar days and does not remove weekends or public holidays.

The formula

Elapsed days = end date − start date Inclusive count = elapsed days + 1
