How to use Data Size Converter
Decimal storage units use powers of 1000. Binary units such as KiB, MiB and GiB use powers of 1024. This difference helps explain why a drive’s decimal capacity can appear as a smaller numeric value in a binary display.
A byte contains eight bits. Internet connection speeds often use bits per second, but a file size is not a transfer speed. This calculator converts sizes only and does not include protocol overhead or predict download time.
